Who we are

We, the International Entrerritmos Festival of Larache, organized by the Loukos Association for Sustainable Tourism since 2012, have taken the Loukos River as a slogan and name for our association as the geographical and historical witness to the civilization of the Lokos Basin and the pivotal actor in the lifestyle of its inhabitants since ancient times, where the Moorish, Berber, Phoenician and Roman civilizations flourished, Carthaginian and Arab on the hill of Lixus since more than two thousand years BC.

The festival has become an annual global event in which artistic, folk and musical groups, intellectuals and researchers from inside Morocco and from countries and continents participate.

Our mission

The mission of the festival falls within the framework of the territorial marketing of the province of Larache, as it gives a national and international promotional radiance to the region, which is rich in its diverse and varied cultural and natural heritage.

The festival performances will be held in the archaeological site of Lixus, the Saadian Towers, the spaces of the ancient city, the colonial and Morisco, squares and public spaces, and the city of the KSSAR EL KBIR.

Our Goals

  • Contribute to the implementation of the 2025 vision of alternative and sustainable tourism in Morocco, especially the Larache region, by working to value the tangible and intangible heritage and making it at the service of sustainable development, creating job opportunities and contributing to improving the standard of living of the population.
  • Promoting a culture of dialogue, coexistence and tolerance between different peoples and cultures through art, music and the various festival activities such as intellectual seminars, training workshops, visits to historical and natural sites and sites and social and cultural institutions, and the participation of the population in reviving and implementing the festival’s performances by creating spaces for co-existence between neighbors and international delegations that are full of affection, sharing and exchange Cultural based on the values ​​of hospitality and human nobility.

Rehabilitation of the local and national material cultural heritage by giving a global radiance to the archaeological site of Lixus and promoting it and the rest of the historical buildings and monuments in the ancient city and its various religious monuments such as mosques, churches, temples, shrines, monasteries and everything that symbolizes the history and reality of coexistence between the three cultures in the city..

  • Researching and paying attention to the intangible heritage of Moroccan cuisine, oral tales, Aita, and other popular artistic expressions, and making them accessible to youth creativity.
  • Calling for the protection of the environment and awareness of the dangers of climate change and highlighting the natural heritage of forests, wet areas, wildlife and water
